Hofri's Crocheted Butterfly Motif
Motif Description
Remember the 3D Renaissance Butterfly I made for my sister? Well, this one is just an off-shoot of that pattern. It's so cute I have to name it after my little baby. I don't know yet what I'm gonna do with this. What are you gonna make?
What You Need
Materials
small amount of plarn* or any other yarn you prefer
Crochet Hook
size appropriate for the plarn or yarn you are using

Abbreviations
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet
dtr = double treble crochet
sp = space
Design Notes
This butterfly is cute no matter what tension you use.
Crochet Instructions
Ch 5, sl st to form ring.
(Ch 6, sl st to ring) 2x.
(Ch 5, sl st to ring) 4x. TURN.
In ch-5 sp, work 1 sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1 tr, and 1 dtr. Ch 7, sl st to ring.
(In next ch-5 sp, work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, and 1 sc. Sl st to ring.)2x
Ch 7. In last ch-5 sp, work 1 dtr, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1hdc, and 1 sc. Sl st to ring.
Weave in loose ends.
Finishing
It's possible that some parts of the motif will not lie flat. If that happens, simply iron the motif between two pieces of paper.
